M Central, Pyrmont

A quality Hayson Group residential development on the site of the old Goldsborough Mort Wool Store in Harris Street Pyrmont. Containing 164 one and two bedroom units with larger penthouses spread over two buildings and 7 floors, the owners demanded a sophisticated Access Control solution.

Bells Access Control have maintained and expanded the original Inner Range Concept based Access Control to suit the changing needs of the residents and manager. Floor by Floor lift control and Magnetic lock systems are features of this installation with all doors capable of automatic release in the event of an emergency.

There are nearly 40 Access Points, over 60 electronically controlled doors and 4 lift banks linked to a central computer that Bells Bureau Service also monitors remotely. Prime locations such as M Central are the specialised marketplace that Bells Access Control Services provide with quality maintenance and reliable system interfaces.
44 Bridge Street, Sydney

This heritage listed Commercial building in the heart of Sydney City also houses a small number of residential tenants. With the busy location and limitations of the heritage design, Bells Access devised a specialised Access Control system based around the Australian designed Concise Systems Networked Access Controller.

The system features automatic opening and locking of the public areas - foyer, fire stairs and lift. This is backed up with off-site access to the system by the strata manager, Whelan Properties. In the case of a lift failure, for instance, Whelan Properties can remotely access the system and release the fire stair locks to provide stairwell access for tenants and visitors.

Two other sophisticated systems have also been installed at 44 Bridge Street. An Italian designed BPT intercom system provides out of hours access for visitors including Floor by Floor lift control integrated to the Access system.

Additional security for residents and the commercial tenants is provided by a multi-point CCTV system controlled through a remotely accessible DVR that monitors the public areas including the lift car. Motion detection is utilised giving long recording times and readily available footage of any security breach or safety oriented issue.

Galleria, Palmer St, Woolloomooloo

On the fringe of the city and the increasingly desirable wharf area; the ‘Galleria’ complex offers a cosmopolitan lifestyle with suburban charm. A low rise development with undercover parking and laneway access can be the target of petty crime and opportunistic intruders.

The management opted to control access to the site with the Concise Networked Access System and linked that to a comprehensive CCTV Video surveillance network providing both site security and valuable visible deterrence.

Bells Access provided both design and implementation strategies that allow all systems to be controlled by a centralised on-site computer to give the managers simple and effective control of their security and surveillance.

Pulpit Point Estate, Hunters Hill

Arguably one of the most prestigious and desirable of Sydney’s estates, Pulpit Point comprises 180 residences from free standing homes to townhouse and unit style accommodation. The Estate is spread across many acres of prime harbourfront land and includes two pools, tennis courts, community centre and one of the few private marinas on the harbour.

Security is a major concern both in the public areas and on the marina which is readily accessed by all types of craft, legitimately and otherwise. Bells Access Control Services was awarded the much sought after contract to provide a comprehensive Access Control solution for these areas. One criterion was that the system be simple to manage on-site yet able to expand as the community’s needs demanded.

Bells designed and installed a customised Concise Access system that utilised proven Presco Proximity technology, as robustness was a major concern given the harsh environment. Long cable runs beneath the marina were designed to incorporate additional capacity for future CCTV integration and expansion to the neighbouring villa complexes.

The Bells Access team successfully completed this technically challenging installation enabling the many remote points to be simply controlled from the central networked computer. The community centre which houses both the system controllers and the manager’s office is additionally protected with a sophisticated yet simple to use Alarm system.

The project highlighted again that security is most successful when clever design parameters meet with simplicity and ease of operation; a Bells Access Control Systems core philosophy.
